On Saturday morning, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s plane passed through Pakistani airspace while returning from Poland to Delhi.
Civil aviation sources confirmed that the plane entered Pakistan’s airspace at 10:15 a.m. and stayed within it for 46 minutes.
The plane entered Pakistani airspace over Chitral, passed through the air control zones of Islamabad and Lahore, and left Pakistani airspace over Amritsar at 11:01 a.m. Civil aviation authorities confirmed that the flight was closely monitored as it traversed key regions of Pakistan before entering Indian airspace.
In 2019, Pakistan refused a request from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to use its airspace for a flight to Germany, amid heightened tensions over the Kashmir dispute. However, two years later in 2021, Pakistan granted permission for his non-stop flight to traverse its airspace en route to the United States.
India had sought permission from Pakistan for Prime Minister Modi’s flight to the US to use its airspace, and Islamabad granted the request.
