A weather system will affect KPK, Punjab, Gilgit Baltistan, and Kashmir. There will be scattered thunderstorms, rain, dust storms, hail, and lightning. Temperatures will gradually return to normal in the north by the weekend and will remain normal by the end of next week.



Affected Areas: Upper and central Punjab, Kashmir, KPK, Sindh, and eastern/NE Balochistan.
In Kashmir, starting this weekend, expect 4-5 days of isolated or scattered thunderstorms in Kotli, Rawalakot, Mirpur, Muzaffarabad, and nearby areas over the next 7 days.

In Punjab: Starting this weekend, expect 3–4 rounds of isolated or scattered thunderstorms in Punjab, including Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Murree, Chakwal, Attock, Jhelum, Gujrat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Jhang, Chiniot, and Bhakkar, starting Friday night or Saturday morning until Wednesday or Thursday night. This period may begin with light dust storms and winds reaching 70–90 km/h, with the possibility of hail.



In KPK: Over the next 7 days, expect 1-3 rounds of scattered dust, thunderstorms, and rain in Hazara, Malakand regions, and Swabi, with lower chances in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, and Kohat. Rainfall may be less in the northwest,, with gusty winds up to 70 km/h. There’s a low chance of rain in Bannu.
In Balochistan, dry, hot, dusty winds with temperatures up to 45–47 °C are expected in Nokkandi, Dalbandin, and Kharan desert areas over the weekend.

Sunny with gusty winds over 70 km/h. It is hot in NE Balochistan, with partly to mostly cloudy skies, and temperatures are rising from 32 to 36 °C in Quetta during the day. After severe heat in Turbat and Gwadar, temperatures will drop but remain humid, resulting in a heat index of 40–55 °C. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms in Dera Bugti and Khuzdar this week; otherwise, it is mostly sunny and hot.



In Sindh, monsoon winds affecting southern and southeastern parts are already overcast. Expect thunderstorms in Nagarparkar over the next week, with heavy rain likely starting Friday evening. Between Saturday and Thursday next week, Karachi may see drizzle amid partly to mostly cloudy skies. Winds from SW at 25–40 km/h, gusts up to 50 km/h. The heat index of 50–60 °C in Karachi will reduce starting Saturday, with a drop in temperature expected.

Overall, above-normal temperatures will remain very high in most of Pakistan over the next few days, with oppressive heat indices continuing in Sindh, Punjab, eastern Balochistan, and KPK. Maximum heat index is expected between 50°C and 60°C in south and east Punjab, Sindh, and central and southern KPK. Heat relief is not expected until early July!
