Not only Tecno, but Infinix smartphones are also facing higher prices due to recent tax changes in Pakistan. The price of the Infinix Smart 8 Plus (4/64GB) has increased from Rs 24,000 to Rs 26,999. Similarly, the price of the Infinix Hot 40i (8/256GB) has increased from Rs 32,000 to Rs 36,999. Here’s a closer look at these phones to see if they still offer excellent value despite the price hikes.

Infinix Smart 8 Plus
The price has gone up by almost Rs 3,000 for this model. It runs on a Helio G36 processor and packs a 6000mAh battery, which is quite powerful. With 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, it’s decent for its category. It supports 18W rapid charging, which is handy.

The rear design is modern, but the front doesn’t look as stylish. It features a 6.52” IPS display with HD+ resolution and 600 nits of brightness—nothing extraordinary. For selfies, there’s an 8 MP front camera.

On the back, the camera setup protrudes slightly. It boasts a 50 MP primary lens and a 0.08 MP auxiliary lens. It operates on Android 13 with Infinix’s XOS 13 skin on top, offering a user-friendly experience.

Infinix Hot 40i
This model has seen a price increase of Rs 4,000. It shares a similar display with the Smart 8 Plus: a 6.52” IPS panel with a 90Hz refresh rate and 720p resolution, along with 600 nits of brightness. It was a fantastic deal at the old price but is less competitive now.

Powered by a Helio G88 chipset, it promises decent performance. It comes with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, which is quite generous even with the higher price tag. The 5000mAh battery supports 18W rapid charging.

The standout feature here is the 50 MP main rear camera, which is impressive at this price point. It also boasts a high-resolution 32 MP front camera for selfies. A side-mounted fingerprint reader adds to its convenience.

Running on Android 13 with Infinix’s XOS 13, the Hot 40i offers a reliable software experience with its customized interface.

Despite the price increases, both phones offer solid specifications for their respective categories. The Smart 8 Plus appeals with its large battery and decent performance, while the Hot 40i stands out with its high-resolution cameras and ample storage. However, potential buyers will need to weigh these features against the higher prices caused by recent tax adjustments in Pakistan.
