The Ministry of Religious Affairs announced on Saturday that the first day of Muharram-ul-Haram 1446 AH will be Monday, July 8. This decision came after the moon was not seen anywhere in the country.
The ministry made this announcement based on the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s decision during their meeting in Quetta.
At a press conference in Quetta, the committee chairman, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, stated that the meeting occurred at the deputy commissioner’s office. Zonal committees in Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and Karachi held similar meetings.
