Rawalpindi: In a development following the recent detentions of high-profile individuals linked to Adiala Jail, another former official has been released.

Zafar Iqbal, a former deputy superintendent of Adiala Jail, was taken into custody on August 13 for questioning regarding his alleged involvement in aiding former Prime Minister Imran Khan during his imprisonment. However, sources report that Iqbal has now been released and returned to his home.

This comes shortly after the release of former Inspector General of Prisons Shahid Saleem Baig, who was also detained for an undisclosed period.

The circumstances surrounding the arrests and subsequent releases of these officials remain unclear, adding to the growing intrigue around the ongoing investigations related to Imran Khan’s time in custody.
